A catchall forward (also called *any) catches all mail sent to your domain that doesn't match any specific alias you've created.
When mail arrives at your domain, E4ward looks for a matching alias. If it finds one, it forwards the mail to that alias's inbox. If there's no match, it falls back to the catchall forward.
The catchall can either:
If you use a custom domain, catchall lets you receive mail to any address on that domain without having to create an alias for each one. For example, if your domain is example.com, you could receive mail to anything@example.com with a single catchall forward.
It's also useful if you give out addresses on the fly and want to catch replies without pre-registering each one.
Because any address on your domain is accepted, you lose track of which aliases you've actually given out. Over time you won't know where mail came from, or which alias to disable when it starts receiving spam. For most users, creating an explicit alias for each contact gives much better control.
If you set catchall to *bounce, any mail to an unknown alias on your domain is rejected. This means no mail gets through unless it's addressed to an alias you've explicitly created. This is a good choice if you want tight control over what reaches your inbox.
Catchall forwarding is not available on the Free plan. It requires a Standard or Pro account.
Go to the Forwards page and add a forward with the alias *any for your domain. Set it to forward to your inbox address or to *bounce.
